We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Solar Project and Electrical Project Permit Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all required permits for electrical and solar projects are obtained and managed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will work closely with the project management, engineering, and construction teams to streamline the permit approval process, mitigate project delays, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Permit Application & Management:

  • Manage and submit all necessary permit applications for solar and electrical installations, including building, electrical, zoning, and environmental permits.

  • Interface with local building departments, municipalities, and utility companies to ensure timely approval of permits.

  • Monitor the permit process from application to approval, resolving any issues that arise.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all electrical and solar projects comply with local, state, and federal codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC).

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in local permitting regulations and safety codes.

Documentation & Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of permits, inspection reports, approvals, and any changes to permit applications.

  • Prepare reports on permit status and provide updates to project managers and stakeholders.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the electrical company, government authorities, and other external agencies to ensure smooth permit processing.

  • Work with project managers and engineers to ensure project timelines align with permit approval schedules.

Inspection & Approval Coordination:

  • Schedule and coordinate inspections with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with safety and construction standards.

  • Ensure all required inspections and approvals are completed on time and that any changes or issues are addressed promptly.

Cost & Time Management:

  • Track and manage permit-related costs and timelines to avoid project delays and budget overruns.

  • Negotiate permit fees and streamline permit approval processes.

Problem Solving:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any permit-related issues or delays, ensuring project schedules are met.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in coordinating permits for solar or electrical projects (1+ years preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and regulations (National Electrical Code, local building codes, and solar-specific regulations).

  • Familiarity with permitting processes in California.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in solar and electrical project permitting, or experience worked in electrical industry 

  • Qualification: High school or higher

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.

  • Ability to work remotely.

Compensation:

  • Full time, 35-40 hours per week, hour pay $20-$25/hr

  • Holiday Pay
